Borrowed time.
My Dad had 4 strokes last year. The first one was on New Year’s Day. He lost his sight. He complained to Mum that he couldn’t see the tv. And then he couldn’t read the newspaper.
How is your Mum?
That’s the question I am most often asked now. Understandably so, given it has only been one month since my Dad’s passing and my parents were together for more than 50 years.
I love my job.
Every day I go to work I never really know what the day will bring but I know that each day I will be able to help someone. To support someone. To enable someone. To bring some comfort. To make a difference.
I just knew.
I just knew my Dad would one day develop dementia. I just knew. And he did. So I knew what lay ahead.
