This is the story of a beautiful man, my Dad.
A man who was proud and generous and loyal and funny.
A man whose mind and body was progressively ravaged by Alzheimer’s disease.
This is the story of my family and how we enabled Dad to keep living the life he was familiar with.
It is a story of despair and grief, of understanding and acceptance and of love and laughter and peace.
I hope that some measure of my family’s experience might provide you with understanding, strength and empowerment as you and your loved ones shape your own journey with ageing and dementia.
