Courageous conversations.
After Dad came home from hospital I realised our family needed to have some courageous conversations. We needed to discuss how we were going to approach the coming months, supporting and caring for my Dad in a manner that was consistent with his values as well as appropriate for the circumstances of his clinical presentation.
Taking Dad home.
Dad’s 3rd stroke occurred at the end of July last year. He had already had 2 strokes earlier in 2017, with the 2nd stroke happening at the end of May 2017.

My Dad had 4 strokes last year. The first one was on New Year’s Day. He lost his sight. He complained to Mum that he couldn’t see the tv. And then he couldn’t read the newspaper.
